Leash Manners:

A pleasure –  does not pull and is slow going.  Needs a few extra minutes to go to the bathroom, so please don’t rush him.

Jumping:

None

Aggression:

Could trigger aggression from other dogs with mounting behaviors.  Possessive aggressive with other dogs (food/toys).

Temperament:

Independent – really no look back, seems withdrawn at times from human/dog connection and prefers to be alone.  Cringes to be given affection on the head – broken and decayed teeth – probable dental pain.

Somewhat interested in ball play.

Seems to have been socialized in different places with different experiences.  Friendly to everyone although can be shy and aloof.  Dominant with most dogs, can socialize with supervision.

Charlie is a very sweet and loving guy and he really wants to give and receive companionship. He would make an EXCELLENT friend to an adult home or with respectful children over 12 years old and a back yard.

He looking for a friend, he likes to go for walks and knows how to run alongside a bike for short distances.  He is a little slow moving but really likes his walks.

He has spent 2 months with a trainer and has completed basic training and manners. Charlie would do best as the only dog although he can socialize with other that are not dominant.  He has been good with the indoor cat. 

He is a lovely boy and really would like to be in a warm house instead of in the shelter. He is a sweetheart so you should come down and see him if you are looking for a real "sidekick"!
